BRIDGE Challenge Trip ~Spring 2024 Dispatch~

What are chaperone volunteers?

Approximately 15 elementary, junior high and high school students will be selected through a public recruitment process to take part in the Bridge Challenge Trip and will accompany them overseas to support the challenge of children in Fukuoka. In addition, they will also help with pre-trip training to help them prepare for their overseas trip with peace of mind.
For more information about the Bridge Challenge Trip, please see the details page below.
★You can also see participants' comments and photos/videos from each event.

The charm of being a volunteer chaperone

You can develop yourself
On Bridge Challenge Trips, two to three lead volunteers work together to gather around 15 elementary to high school students into a group and lead them safely to the destination. In addition, through the training that takes place before and after the dispatch, we stay close to the children, watch over them, and monitor their growth. It is up to the volunteers to decide what kind of group they will form with these unique children! This is an opportunity for you to develop yourself by actively interacting with children and other volunteers.
★Watch your children grow up close and personal
Many of the children are leaving their parents' homes for the first time to go overseas, and some members leave Japan with tears in their eyes. Through local homestays and exchange programs, these group members gain a variety of experiences and grow significantly. The interaction between the lead volunteers and group members continues even after the project ends. Please continue to watch over the growth of the children who gained valuable opportunities through challenge trips.
★You'll have the chance to visit countries that you can't visit on a regular trip.
Some of the destinations you will be dispatched to include countries and regions that are difficult to travel to on your own, such as the Maldives and Mongolia. The local point of contact is a public institution that has a long history of interaction with APCC, so you can feel safe leading your child in any country or region.
