[Notice] Report of cancellation of BRIDGE Summer Camp2020

In light of the recent worldwide spread and serious impact of the new coronavirus infection, we have been making preparations for the invitation-type children's international exchange project "BRIDGE Summer Camp 2020" to be held in July. We would like to inform you that we have decided to cancel all operations.

Please see the attached document for details.

[Notice of cancellation of BRIDGE Summer Camp 2020]

This is an annual project held every July that has been involved with many families, schools, and municipalities in Fukuoka Prefecture for more than 30 years, so we will continue to consider the possibility until the very end as to whether or not we will be able to hold the project. I'm here.

However, with the Tokyo Olympics postponed and a state of emergency declared in Fukuoka Prefecture, the main actors will be 11-year-old children, and these children will gather in Fukuoka from all over the world to participate in a large-scale event. Considering that this is an international exchange project that involves many kinds of exchanges, we have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to protect the health of all participants and related parties and carry out the project safely and securely. It has arrived.

In addition to the ``BRIDGE Challenge Trip 2020,'' which was canceled in February, the summer invitation-type project ``BRIDGE Summer Camp 2020'' has also been canceled, and the participants from Japan and abroad who were looking forward to the exchange have been canceled. It is with great sadness that I think of all the companies, governments, schools, and volunteers who have provided support and cooperation.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to hold face-to-face international exchanges this year, but our organization is determined to overcome this predicament and create even more fulfilling exchange opportunities that only APCC can provide, and that will last 50 or 100 years into the future. We will continue to push forward so that we can continue to provide it to even more people in the future.

We would like to ask for your continued understanding, cooperation, and support for this project.

APCC has decided to cancel the “BRIDGE Summer Camp 2020” program due to the global spread of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19). For further details, please refer to the attached letter. Thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation.
