On Sunday, July 1st, the "Host Family Gathering," where all of this year's host families gathered, was held at the ACROS Fukuoka Event Hall.
With only two weeks left until the children's arrival in Japan, the atmosphere was one of "it's almost here," as we informed the host families of the details and precautions they would need to take during the stay. We also gave them specific details about the preparations the volunteers who will be taking care of the camp have made so far, and what they will be doing during the camp. It was clear to see that they were thinking about the children, and had spent a lot of time and effort making careful preparations.
Through the experiences of last year's host friends (children of the host families), they spoke from a child's perspective about the difficulties, importance, and joys of international exchange. Adults who had been child ambassadors from overseas and those from Fukuoka shared their thoughts then and now. Everyone listened intently to the packed-in content.
For this year's invitation project, each person is doing their best in their own way to prepare to welcome the children!!!
