Can I be both a host family and volunteer at the same time?

A

It is possible to participate in both. However, during the period of acceptance as a host family, Junior Ambassador is given first priority. If you wish to participate in APCC volunteer activities, please be sure to consult with your family members and participate in the activities in a reasonable manner.

I am a student attending a medical school. Can I register as a medical volunteer?

A

Medical volunteers require practical care such as treating the injured and sick people, so unless you are a qualified person, you will not be able to register.

Is academic ability required to register as a volunteer?

A

Particular academic ability is not required. However, depending on the activity, there are some roles that require English proficiency.

Q

I have read that volunteers need to pay for the transportation, food, etc. expenses necessary for the activities at your own expense, but approximately how much will it cost?

A

Accommodation, food, and transportation expenses vary depending on the activities of each devision. If you have many activities where you eat and sleep together, it may cost more.

Can I do volunteer work if I don't have English skills?

A

Even if you can't speak English, anyone is welcome as long as they are motivated! Don't worry, APCC volunteers will be able to communicate with everyone if they have an "OMOIYARI" spirit. Additionally, there are some activities and roles that require English proficiency, so those who are confident in English are also welcome.

If I have to attend to other commitments such as club activities or work, is it okay to miss a division meeting?

A

Of course, you will be able to understand the content of the activities better if you can attend all meetings. However, you do not need to attend all if it is not convenient for you. Please note, depending on division, there are certain dates where participation is mandatory. If you find it difficult to participate, please contact APCC office first.

I live outside Fukuoka Prefecture or overseas, can I still participate in volunteer activities?

A

During the program period, activities will basically be held face-to-face in Fukuoka. Additionally, meetings of each division will generally be held face-to-face. Sometimes, there may be online meetings. Please contact the division you belong to after registering.

Q

I would like to take time off from school or work to participate in volunteer activities. Do I have a certificate for my absence?

A

APCC does not create certificates for official absences or vacations associated with volunteer activities. Please contact your school or company to obtain permission for official absence. (If you need APCC pamphlets, please contact the APCC office.

Q

After registering as a new volunteer, there are some divisions that I would like to add. Is it possible to add them later?

A

If you would like to add and join other divisions, please contact the APCC office at any time. We will register additional divisions upon contact from you.

Q

There are multiple divisions that I am interested in when I registered as a volunteer, but can I only register and participate in one?

A

You can register for more than one division that you are interested in. However, activities may overlap on the same day and at the same time. Please note that you can only participate in one event if activities overlap.
