2008 host family, GBLAP participation, etc.

The valuable experience of international exchange shaped my sense of values.

Our first participation in APCC was in 2008 when we hosted Junior Ambassadors. At that time, I was an elementary school student. After that, I went to Hawaii on a mission project and participated in GBLAP (Global BRIDGE Leader Action Program) when I was a high school student. I continued to be a host family as well.

The opportunity to interact with children from other countries and to travel abroad at an early age had a great impact on my mindset. Especially through the experience of being a "foreigner" myself, I was able to communicate as a human being without prejudice of country or race. I am really glad that I had the opportunity to participate in international exchange through the APCC program at such an important time in my life when I was forming my sense of values. I also became interested in law after visiting Nepal through GBLAP and realizing that legal system was not well developed, so I decided to study law. I am currently studying in a university in Taiwan, and I feel that the APCC experience has had a great impact on my life in this regard, as it has significantly lowered the hurdle for me to go abroad.
